I really like the vintage, distressed look in furniture. My hubby and I have been painting a lot of it.
We found this dresser at a yard sale. Today was a BUSY day!
I did errands and grocery shopping early in the morning. Then I spent the better part of the day in the kitchen- cooking. I made homemade dog food (ground beef, peppers, spinach, broccoli and a few blueberries) and liver dog treats. That went into our brand new freezer! I cut up a huge amount of vegetables for the week: celery, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts, peppers. I roasted potatoes and cauliflower and made two loaves of meatloaf- which I put into containers for the freezer for a few dinners over the week. My daughter graduated from University two weeks ago. What an accomplishment.
I thought I would do a few comparisons. This is me on the left, 29 years ago, when I graduated from Nursing School. I was two weeks shy of 23 years old. My daughter, on the right, is 23 and just finished her architectural history degree. This is my dad and me when I was 7 or 8. He died when I was 12.
November 14, 1922 - June 22, 1979 RIP 39 years without my dad. Irises are my favourite flower. My dad used to plant them. Purple, blue and yellow ones used to fill the garden with colour in the late Spring.
Today is PHANTOM's 'Gotcha Day.' Six years ago we picked this little 9 pound cutie from the Lincoln County Humane Society. 🐶🐩 He is my shadow! He is at least 9 1/2 years old but I think he is older- he is kind of like a grumpy old man! We love him!🐩
In August of 2011, my daughter, her friend and myself did a bike ride around the Greater Niagara Circle Route. Quite an accomplishment for me. It was fun.....ish.
