My new American friend “LeeAnne” has written a heart-felt, sincere, articulate, personal post on the topic of Anxiety.
I've decided I'm done being quiet and polite about a number of things. I'm tired of depending on people who are clueless of the reality and gravity of my situation and others like me, to advocate for me. How can they? I often speak up and speak out on closed forums and offer support, advice, and information, when I have it to give. And I am often thanked and told that this is my missed calling. Or teaching. Maybe. I don't know. But I have had life and career experiences that have taught me things that I know can help others. I do enjoy helping when I can, and I've always been a fight for the underdog kind of gal. I was always a strong patient advocate as a nurse. I was mostly able to do so in a diplomatic manner and have an excellent rapport with many providers and fellow nurses. Many former patients or family members have asked to be friends since I've become disabled. But I also wasn't afraid to pitch a feet stomping hissy-fit or go over someone's head or several heads for a patient's best interest when necessary. I may be on a *hit list or two as a result, and well, that is what it is.

Abortion has always been a controversial topic that produces heated discussions, no matter which side a person is in favour of.
My new American friend “LeeAnne” has written a heart-felt, sincere, articulate, common-sense post on this very volatile topic. The writer in me is a wee bit jealous of her words but I asked her if I could share her post and she graciously said yes. So here it is: (First) I will add a trigger warning for content related to politics, religion (mild mention), sexual assault/violence, strong language, and the unedited sharing of my opinion. I've already lost a couple (hundred) "friends," some family apparently, on FB for the views I've shared. Some have told me. Some just disappeared. That's okay. I don't delete anyone for differing opinions. I do however for harassment, threats of violence, or just continually being an outright ass, unless I already know that's just your personality and how you come across. That said, I love all my friends. You are still allowed, at least on my page, to express your opinions. I only ask the previously mentioned things be kept in mind. If anyone that chooses to read this, decides they just cannot agree to disagree (you will NOT change my mind) and wants to leave, you are free to do so. Some parts of some statements may feel like a repeat. Bear with me. My brain is fried. And overall, this is a collection of various responses to numerous people. I will try to edit some to keep it coherent, but no promises. So hold on to your scarlet letters... My long-time online friend wrote the following article and it perfectly puts into words the way I feel about bullies and people who look down on others. After thinking about the entitled jerk behaviors I witnessed last night at the airport...
Here’s some perspective for all the ridiculous rage monster crazies, AND so we all can avoid *being* them this time of year 😂 because we’re all capable lol: If you can afford to fly in a plane somewhere, or be picking up a loved one who can afford to fly to *you* for a happier holiday, get over your angries. It’s hectic at airports, stores, and restaurants between now and New Years. PLAN AHEAD. WAY AHEAD. IT’S THE HOLIDAYS (duh). It’s a really big pet peeve of mine when people who *don’t* plan ahead make their self-inflicted stress/lateness/rush everyone else’s fault and expect special accommodations *on top* of us all putting up with their ridiculous ragey tantrums. Anyone who has worked in retail/restaurant/customer service/airports literally laughs at and mocks people like this in employee break rooms everywhere. And puts your name on a black list. Because yeah it’s everyone else’s fault and we are all incompetent idiots that you aren’t given special permissions to jump a line, park in .... |
